1:00 PM: Documentary - "Taro Yashima -Itsukushimu Inochi" (45 min.)
Taro Yashima (1908-1994) always had his theme, "praising one's life," and expressed it through his paintings. This documentary film features Taro Yashima himself as well as his two sons, actor Mako Iwamatsu, and non fiction writer Chihiro Isa.

Starring Takaya Kamikawa, Mako, Yoshino Kimura
Master writer/director Yoji Yamada, acclaimed worldwide for the "Twilight Samurai," and Mako, team up in this new drama about war, homeland, and family. A young man meets an old former Kamikaze pilot (Mako) on a southern island, and becomes involved in a poignant mystery.
Both films are in Japanese. (No English subtitles)
